After the devastation of Hurricane Ian on Fort Myers Beach last September, our team at Edison Beach House has been working tirelessly to clean up and rebuild after the storm. With the resilience of our community, businesses are beginning to reopen, and clean-up is progressing more and more each month. At Edison Beach House, we are excited to start welcoming guests in January 2023. Today, we would like to share how far we have come to get to this reopening with photos from the storm and what our hotel looks like today!
Things to Keep in Mind Before Booking
As we are still in the process of repairing our hotel, we ask everyone to consider these factors before booking your room with Edison Beach House:
- There is currently no elevator, and all rooms on floors 2-5 are only accessible by our stairwells.
- Construction on the hotel will be continuous during business hours until all repairs are completed.
- No moving trucks, campers, RVs, or construction equipment are allowed on the property.
- Only one car is allowed per room in the parking lot, and parking passes must always be displayed in the rear-view mirror.
- There is currently no ground floor office, pool, or downstairs restrooms, and no beach furniture for guest use.
- No pets are allowed on the property.
- Housekeeping services are provided every three days for all guests.
